5 Lesser-Known Online Business Ideas

1. Ask people to find a hidden link in your ad copy. If they
find the hidden link tell them they will get a prize or freebie
by clicking on it. This will increase the chance that they will
buy your product or service because they will read your
whole ad copy.

2. Start a members only web site. Tell visitors what's in your
members only site and what it costs to get access. Offer them
a free membership, if, in exchange they link to your web site,
post your banner on their home page or agree to advertise
your web site in their e-zine for a set period of time. Usually
they will agree to the free advertising to save money. This is
a powerful way to get free advertising.

3. Want a popular discussion board? This technique is based on
the number of postings made by any one person. You could
give away a free product or service to any person that posts ten
or more messages on your discussion in a month. It could be a
free e-book, report, e-mail consulting etc. Just keep track of
everyone's postings each month. This could also work for e-mail
discussion lists.

4. Give your visitors an instant article directory. Tell your
visitors they can instantly add a free article directory to
their web site by linking to yours. Just place your ad or banner
ad on top of the article directory for your main product or
service. All those links can add up to a large amount of traffic
for your web site.

5. There a millions of web sites on the internet. Instead of
marketing your web site as a web site. Market it as a free web
book. Design your web site with a title page, table of contents,
chapters, etc. Just place your ad or banner for your product or
service on the top of each web page.

Online Discussion Board Advertising

Posting messages on online discussion boards is a great way to
get free advertising. When you post a message include your
signature file at the end. Your signature file should be no more
than 5 to 6 lines. Include an attention-getting sentence why
they should visit your web site or e-mail your auto responder.

Some online discussion boards allow you to leave text and
graphic links at the end of your messages. You will get a better
click-through rate with links than just a normal signature file.

Below are three types of messages you could post to online
discussion boards:

1. Informative Comments
Post information that would be informative to the people who
participate on the discussion board. It could be an article or a
study you've completed.

2. Ask Questions
Post a question on the discussion board you would like answered.
This will give you a chance to meet other experts and it could
lead to a profitable joint venture.

3. Answer Questions
Post the answer to another person's question on the discussion
board. When you answer questions you will get known as an
expert on the subject.

Before posting to any online discussion board read the FAQ or
rules first. They will tell you what kinds of posts are allowed.
Read the board for a few days before posting your message to
see what type of messages are being posted. Never post
messages on a board that are unrelated to the subject.

Endorsement Marketing Secrets

Endorsement marketing is having famous or reputable people
recommend your product or service to others. They could be
celebrities, star athletes, musicians, etc. Choose people that
are related to your business and might actually use your
product or service.

Before asking anyone for an endorsement be sure your product
or service gives the results you say it does. They may ask you
to prove it before they will agree to give an endorsement.

Once you find the ideal person to endorse your product or
service simply contact them and ask. When proposing any
endorsement deal make it a win/win situation. Tell them you
would get the endorsement and they would get free publicity.
If they're selling a product or service, you could exchange
endorsements. If they ask for a fee, try to give them a
percentage of the profits instead.

Once you get an endorsement from someone, use it on all your
advertising and marketing material. Put their endorsement and
picture on your Web site. Use their testimonial in your ads.
Include it on your product packages.

An endorsement can increase your sales fast. It gives credibility
to your product or service. People will usually believe a person
that's not related to your business before they will believe you.

3 Clever Ways To Promote Your Online Business

1. Electronic Catalog Marketing

Create a catalog of products or services in e-book or auto
responder form. Give the catalog away for free to your
web site visitors. Ask other web sites, that aren't in direct
competition with your business, if they would like to add
their products or services to the catalog. If they do, just ask
that in return they either link to your web site, run your
promotional ad in their e-zine or place your banner ad on
their web site for a set period of time. You could ask them
to also give away the free catalog because you would
already have your ad(s) in the catalog. Since you created
and compiled the catalog place your ad or sponsor ad at the
top or title page of the catalog. This technique will quickly
multiply your advertising.

2. Donate Your Publishing

Donate to libraries. There are thousands of school, college
and local libraries all over the United States and world.
Millions of people visit libraries everyday. Why not donate
your e-mail newsletter to them. You can find a huge list of
libraries on online yellow page web sites. Contact the library
by mail, phone or e-mail. Tell them you would like to donate
a free subscription of your e-mail newsletter. If they accept
find out if they want it sent by mail in print form or by e-mail
so they can print out the newsletter. You could also donate
your books, audio tapes, video's, booklets, etc. If you have
an e-book you could put it on disk or CD-ROM and donate
it. Just have your business ad included in the material you
donate.

3. Online Community Marketing

Create a popular online discussion board. Reward people
points for every message posted on your discussion board.
Let's say you reward each person 25 points for each
posting. You could give them a free product or service for
500 points which would add up to 20 postings on your board
from that one person. Just keep track of points for each
person that posts on your message board. This could also
work for e-mail discussion lists. Just post your promotional
ad at the top of your discussion board page. Everyone that
visits your discussion board will see your ad.

Increase Your Target Markets

Increase Your Target Markets
Copyright © Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy
http://www.PlugInProfitSite.com/main-9747

Are your products or services geared towards only one
target market? You can increase sales and profits by
increasing your target markets. Below are some creative
ways to increase your target markets by using your existing
products and services you're selling right now.

REDESIGN

You can increase your target markets by redesigning your
products and services. For example: you're selling a book
called "Internet Marketing Tips For Accountants" You
could rewrite part of your book and call it "Internet
Marketing Tips For Lawyers". You've now increased your
target markets by redesigning your book.

ADD-ON

You can increase your target markets by adding on other
product or service with your main one. For example: if
you're selling a football magazine you could add a free
football when someone buys a subscription. You're now
targeting people who want the football magazine and those
that want to play football out in the yard. Sometimes they
buy stuff just to get the freebies.

TEAM-UP

You can increase your target markets by doing a cross
promotion with a similar non-competing businesses. For
example: your business sells tennis rackets and you find
another business to cross promote with that sells tennis
balls. You could combine your racket and their balls in
one package. You are now targeting people that need
tennis rackets and balls.

How to Protect Yourself from Home Based Business Scams While there are many lucrative home based opportunities on the Internet, there are also many

While there are many lucrative home based opportunities on the Internet, there are also many scams that one must be aware of in their quest for a home business. Scam artists are in abundance, and just waiting for someone who is hopeful - and inexperienced - to happen by. Don't let it be you!

Of course, there are scam artists who target those who want to start their own home based business, but there are also scam artists who target average computer users around the world. These scam artists are adept at creating web sites that look and feel just like the web sites that you commonly use. For example, they can make an exact duplicate site of your banks web site, in an attempt to trick you into providing them with your username and password, or other sensitive data, such as your account number or credit card number.

In home based business scams, however, things work a bit differently. In this case, the scammer simply wants you to give him your money, in exchange for a load of lies and unfulfilled promises. He doesn't need your bank account information, he just needs payment, which inexperienced hopeful people will happily give him. He will take your money knowing that he is crushing your dreams and draining your bank account - and he won't care.
Protecting Yourself from Business Opportunity Scams

So, how can you protect yourself from these scammers? The first step is to use good, sound common sense. As always, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Learn to recognize hype, and to avoid offers that are 'hyped.' Hype means that outlandish promises are being made. For example, a scammer might promise you that you can make tens of thousands of dollars in just a few short days, with little or no work. That is a common ploy used in scammy home based business advertisements.
Research the Company

Before you invest your hard earned money in any business opportunity, you need to fully research the company. Check with the Better Business Bureau first to see if there are any negative reports. You can also pay for a basic background check, which generally costs less than twenty bucks. A great deal can be learned from such basic information.

Personal Information

Use a post office box, instead of your home address, and never give out personal details if you can avoid it. However, when doing business online, many times you will need to provide personal information. When doing so over the Internet, make sure that the site is secure by ensuring that the web site address in your address bar begins with https://, instead of just http://.
Read the Fine Print

Read everything, including the fine print, and make sure that you don't pay for anything until you have read all agreements and such. You should know exactly what you are paying for, before you send that payment. If possible, ask to talk directly with other people who have invested in the business opportunity, and verify who they are. Note that a scammer can put people up to telling you anything that they think that you want to hear, but often, when asked for references and such, a scammer will move on.
Common Sense

Once again, use good common sense in all transactions, and trust your instincts. If it feels wrong, it probably is. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If you are unsure, do not move forward until you are sure. The right business opportunity will come along, but by paying attention, and knowing what to be on the lookout for, you won't spend a great deal of time or money investing in business scams.

Google to Stop Adsense for Video Program

Google writer Arlene Lee had stated that after reviewing their AdSense video units feature, which allows you to show YouTube content and ads on your pages, they've found that it hasn't had the impact they had hoped for and therefore they’ll be terminating the program at the end of April.

In other words, the Adsense for Video program had not made enough money for Google within the year it was running.

The option to sign up for video units is no longer available to new publishers and if you currently display video units, Google recommends that you start removing the video unit code from your pages as soon as possible. Earnings from video units in the past will still be credited to your AdSense account until the end of April. At that time, any video units that remain on your sites will direct your visitors to YouTube but you won’t be paid.

The Importance of Keywords and Link Exchanges in Internet Marketing

You may have an excellent product or service but if your site is not well ranked by the search engines, you won't get many targeted visitors to your site to make any reasonable sales.

Optimizing your keywords (or keyword phrases) and reciprocal linking (link exchanges) are two of the internet marketing strategies which could help making your site more visible. The following are some points worth taking into consideration:

1) Specific Keyword Search

Put yourself in the visitors' shoes and imagine what words and phrases they would use to search for your products or services. Then try to build your sites using these words and phrases. Some webmasters even name their products using such keywords.

Sometimes the visitors use words to indicate their intension to solve some persistent problems or to acquire certain skills such as how to train a dog effectively. Hence, if your site screams "How to train a Labrador", your service might go un-noticed if most visitors are using the phrase, "How to train a dog" to find their answers.

It is important that the selected keyword phrases are as specific as possible by modifying them with "geographic", "noun" and "adjective". This could lead to an increase in the percentage of potential prospects in the traffic the phrase attracts.

Try the following resources to build your list of keyword phrase:

- Word Tracker
wordtracker.com
Or for a free version,freekeywords.wordtracker.com/

- Good Keywords by Softnik Technologies

- Google Keyword Tool
